For Filipino fans hoping that 2026 would finally be the year they would see South Korean singer-actor Park Ji-hoon on a dedicated concert stage, another disappointment has arrived.

The star's much-awaited 2026 PARK JI HOON ASIA FANCON [RE], originally scheduled for August 8 in Manila, has been officially canceled. In a surprising development, organizer YY Entertainment announced that the event has been relocated to Macau, where it will now take place on the very same date.

The agency cited only "unavoidable circumstances" as the reason behind the sudden venue change, offering no further explanation. The announcement immediately sparked disappointment among Filipino MAYs, many of whom had been eagerly awaiting Ji-hoon's long-overdue return after multiple canceled appearances in the country.

In its official statement, YY Entertainment apologized to fans who had been looking forward to the Manila stop and asked for their understanding.

Instead, Park Ji-hoon will now meet fans on August 8 at 6:00 p.m. (Macau time) at The Grand Hall, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau—one of Macau's most prestigious integrated luxury resorts. Ticket prices and further event details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

For affluent fans across Southeast Asia, the relocation effectively transforms the fan concert into a destination entertainment event, combining an exclusive Park Ji-hoon experience with one of Asia's premier luxury travel hubs.

The cancellation also extends what has become an unfortunate pattern for Ji-hoon's Philippine engagements.

His last visit to the Philippines was in September 2023 during the Korea Travel Fiesta. He was later scheduled to hold a brand-sponsored fan meeting in Manila in March 2026, but that event was also canceled before it could take place.

When the RE Asia Fan Concert Tour was announced earlier this year following the release of his latest single album—featuring the track "Bodyelse"—many believed Filipino fans would finally get the dedicated concert they had been waiting years to experience. That expectation has now been put on hold once again.

Park Ji-hoon's career continues to soar despite the latest scheduling setback.

He first entered the entertainment industry as a child actor before capturing international attention in 2017 as a contestant on Produce 101 Season 2, where he finished second and debuted with the massively successful project group Wanna One.

Following the group's disbandment, Ji-hoon successfully reinvented himself as both a solo recording artist and an acclaimed actor. His performance in Netflix's coming-of-age action hit Weak Hero Class earned widespread praise, while subsequent projects—including the historical drama film The King's Warden—further solidified his reputation as one of South Korea's most versatile young stars.

Earlier this year, he also delighted longtime fans by reuniting with his former Wanna One bandmates for a special reunion variety program.

For now, however, Filipino fans hoping for a long-awaited Park Ji-hoon fan concert will have to wait once again—or consider making Macau their next K-entertainment destination.
